Susan Toalson

Susan brings teaching and campus administration experience to the NEW team. With more than 25 years of teaching high school and community college English (both on-campus and online), she understands the day-to-day challenges that instructors must face and overcome, from administrative requirements, to lack of student motivation, to a shortage of the most important resource of all—time.

Susan began a 10-year career at the University of Texas at Austin in the provost's office, working as a special assistant for the university president's attorney. In this position, she learned the infrastructure of a large university campus and came to understand the special protocols for dealing with various levels of administration. Also at the University, in the Division of Continuing Education, she directed the development and administered the offerings of a fully online high school. This initiative required that she assist in the development of requirements for online K-12 courses for the state of Texas.

Susan holds an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M at Kingsville and a master's degree from Texas State University.
